Bought this on amazon on Friday before Hurricane Sandy, and was delivered Saturday afternoon. As of now, this generator has been running non stop for 4 days. With a full tank, ran a fridge, tv/dvd, lights and coffee maker for 10 plus hours with no problem. Not big enough for much more than that, but for around $200, it's a fantastic deal. Noise output was much less than surrounding generators in neighborhood. Oil is not included, and would be great to have a goose neck style funnel to add oil prior to starting. Small enough to easily transport, but strong enough to keep you going during an outage. Highly recommend this generator. That seams unbelievable-AGAIN- but I hope this will work out good. if u can get a gen get it. in worst case run it off natural gass. I do.U dont need the 300 dollar kit-- I just run a hose to a ball valve then into the carb. I start it on gasoline then shut off the gasoline valve then adjust the ball valve so it keeps running. When there is a surge, it runs slow, I then turn on choke and leave it on-let it run like that--(cheep free gas in WV.)and it runs a bit slower but has done great so far.Generac 5843 , Yamaha EF4500iSE, Generac 5789, Honeywell 3250-6150, DuroMax XP4400E-CA, Generac Guardian 5871 , Honeywell 1600-6065, Hyundai HHD6250, Yamaha EF6300iSDE, All Power America APG3301C, GenTran 2026 , Generac 6212, All Power America APGG7500, Sunforce 45444, Reliance Controls TRC1005A , Honeywell 1400-6067 , Instapark NEW All Black, Powerland PD10000E , Goal Zero 31901, Generac 5931, All Power America APG3560 , Honeywell 5500-6036, Champion Power 42436, All Power America APG3201, Powermate PM0601250, Gen-Tran 30-Amp, Powermate PM0435005, Sunforce 11260, Powerland PD4000E, Steele Products SP-GG600, Yamaha EF2800i, Goal Zero 11102, Sportsman GEN10K, Powerhouse PH3100Ri, Generac Guardian 6052, TRC 34750 , Generac 5690 , ETQ TG32P31, Go Power GP-SW1500-12, Steele Products SP-GG300 , Gensource GS-1000i , Honeywell HW7500E, Hyundai HHD3500, Generac GP6500E, Goal Zero 29201, Steele Products SP-GG200 , Duracell DS10R1i, Portagen Electric Start, Sunforce 44444 , Honeywell HW2000i So I got this little gem for power outs in Michigan....My wife and I went through a tornado event last memorial weekend.. power was out of a 3 county area for days... We bought the only generator left a 1000 watt surge 900 watt running from Meijer.. It did most things that little guy the fridge and lights and or a 8000 btu or 5000 watt btu air conditioner and lights but it was a 2 stroke and had to be filled every 4-5 hours... I got this little Gen154 because it could run overnight and do a few things like a small aircontioner and the fridge and lights so this little guy works for that...It says it can surge to 16.67 amps.... I doubt that I tried to use it to start my 1 horse well pump that runs at 8 amps with 16 amps to start... Well the one thing you need to know if you purchase this is that is has 10 amp breaker.. So I tried to start the pump and the 10 amp breaker tripped.. I bought a champion 4000 watt surge 3500 watt running amps and it runs the pump... This little guy can still be useful but not as useful as I first thought it would be... Also it started really hard the first time I started it.. I can see how someone might break the plastic housing the covers the pull mechanism.... I've been looking at getting a small generator for some time now and swayed back and forth on this unit among a few others. I was hesitant on this unit based on all the mixed reviews and gripes everyone posted up. Well this dropped in price and since it was prime I decided to take a shot. When it arrived (required signature for those also using prime) I un-boxed it and followed the instructions to the T setting it up while using some fresh gas. It fired up pretty fast and I let it idle for a good 5 or 10 minutes. It had a rather steady idle not much different sounding than my 6.75hp Briggs & Stratton pressure washer. It was a bit louder than I was hoping but you can't have everything. So I popped in my DVM leads and checked the voltage. We were sitting in the 128 mark, looking good so far. I powered down and setup some extension cords and my load tester.

So with 50ft of extension and a 1500w electric heater (fire place with fans and lights on top of the 1500w). I fired up the generator and plugged in everything. Then turned on the fireplace, full heat, lights and fans on high. I wanted to see how it would react and react it did. The engine immediately revved up and took on a new tone, but the fireplace stayed on and was pumping out some heat. I left it running for a few minutes and checked the voltage on the face of the unit while all was under load. I read 109 volts with everything running. Pretty good in my book, after all the reviews i read I expected to see sub 100 at this point or to have the generator hunting for an idle. None of this happened in my case and I was quite surprised how well it ran. I packed it up and it will stay in my short term emergency kit.
Moral of the story is, not everyone of these is a dud. I would attribute some of peoples failures to not properly setting these up. The manual shows where the oil fill line is and how much it should take (~.5 qts) I found that to get the fill line to where the manual shows the limit should be I was closer to ~.7 or .8 qts and I was still short a little from the top of the threads.
